About Options


You can change or adjust several factors that affect how Oil Change works using the Options feature. The following table contains a list of the Configuration Options tabs and what you can do on each tab.

Update user profile information User Profile
Clear the Oil Change disk cache. You have to do this when information, vital to the operation of Oil Change, becomes corrupted. Cleanup
Clear any scans that you may have scheduled. Cleanup
Delete any updates that you have downloaded but haven’t installed. Cleanup
Remove the data in the Oil Change History feature Cleanup
Select or reconfigure your Internet connection. Connection
Let Oil Change determine how you connect to the Internet. Connection
Configure proxy server settings if you connect to the Internet through a proxy server. Connection
Schedule when Oil Change scans your hard drive for applications and drivers. Scan
Set background scan options. Scan
Activate the Undo feature. Undo
Determine how long Oil Change keeps backup files needed to undo an update before deleting them from your computer’s hard drive. Undo
Specify a folder for Oil Change to use to store backup files needed to undo an update. Undo

Disk Cache

A cache refers to a certain amount of space set aside on your computer's hard drive where Oil Change stores various kinds of information that help it perform job. This information can become corrupt, or the cache get full. You can clean out the cache using the Cleanup tab.
