About Choosing Updates

Oil Change displays only the updates that are appropriate for your computer and for your type of Oil Change membership. Oil Change also provides the following information about each update:

Status information, for example, whether or not you have scheduled an update to be downloaded.
Description of each update.
Size and approximate download time.
Whether Oil Change can install the update automatically or manually.

Sometimes more than one update is available for a given product. In these cases, you should read the description carefully to ensure that you are selecting the desired update.

You can have Oil Change notify you about specific products and individual product updates. You specify which products to monitor using the Customize feature, which is available in the Supported Applications and Drivers dialog box.

Tip

If you are trying to connect to a busy Internet service provider or Web site, you may have to try several times before successfully retrieving an update. You can tell Oil Change how many times to try to download an update using the Download tab in the Customize feature on the Supported Applications and Drivers dialog box.
