(NASDAQ\NMS: CYBR) is enlisting the aid of the public to name the canine mascot of its new Internet security and privacy software program -- Guard Dog(tm) Deluxe. The contest, appropriately called "Name the Guard Dog" begins on September 19 and will run until December 15. We spent so long training our new best friend to protect and serve the online privacy and security of our customers, that we forgot to name him. We know how to make great software, but when it came to naming our Guard Dog, let's face it we choked. We thought about calling him Fluffy - enough said. Snowball? Our CEO thought we were pathetic. We dare not risk a lawsuit by using some of the best names like Snoopy®, Marmaduke®, Lassie®, Scooby Doo®, or Pluto®. You can see why we are asking for the public's help.

Contestants can enter either by visiting the CyberMedia Website at www.cybermedia.com and submitting an e-mail vote, or sending their votes directly to CyberMedia via first class mail. All entries will be judged based on their general excellence and creativity by the staff at the Santa Monica, CA Humane Society. The winner will be announced on January 15, 1998 and posted on the CyberMedia Website.

The winner of the "Name the Guard Dog" contest will receive one copy of First Aid® Deluxe, Oil Change(tm), UnInstaller(tm) and Guard Dog Deluxe (approximate retail value of $180.00) and a $500 gift basket for their pet.
