CYBERMEDIA ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES
San Jose, CA.— (February 9, 1998) --CyberMedia, Inc. (NASDAQ: CYBR) today announced that its chief financial officer, Jeffrey Beaumont, has resigned effective today. In a move intended to support President and CEO Unni Warrier, the board of directors has appointed Kanwal Rekhi, a current CyberMedia director, as the company's new chairman. "I look forward to working with Kanwal more closely, and benefiting from his knowledge and industry experience," said Warrier.
The CyberMedia board also established an executive committee of the board to assist Rekhi. The executive committee consists of Rekhi and two other outside directors.
"Unni has done a great job as CEO in building the company," said Rekhi. "Revenues have grown from $5 million in 1995 to $78 million in 1997. CyberMedia's First Aid(R) and Uninstaller(TM) have consistently appeared on the top ten bestsellers list of Windows 95 business software. In addition to the company's multiple products in the retail channel, it recently broadened its reach into the corporate environment with the introduction of CyberMedia Support Server (CSS).
" Rekhi, a 25-year industry veteran, has been a member of CyberMedia's board since October of 1995. Most recently, Rekhi was an executive vice president and board member at Novell, Inc. He previously served as president and CEO of Excelan, Inc., a networking company he founded that was acquired by Novell in 1989.
